James Robey Dance (JRD) is a contemporary dance company dedicated to the creation of new and original works, embracing dance making from a spirit of creative inquiry and experimentation. Integrating modern technical execution, autonomy, and narrative with postmodern process-orientation, irony, and collaboration, JRD does embodied research grappling with the developing transmodern movement in dance and conceptual contemporary art. In addition to  creative work, JRD brings greater awareness to the value of dance, and by extension all arts, by working generously to serve as a bridge between aspiring dancers and dance audiences and contemporary dance through positive and expansive educational workshops and participatory works-in-progress showings.
